Narrative (“Narrative”, “we”, “us”) provides an AI-visibility platform at yournarrative.ai that helps brands understand and improve how AI answer engines represent them. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. If you have any questions, contact us at ghawanni@yournarrative.ai.

1. Information we collect

  • Account information — your name, email address, and workspace details, provided when you sign up (authentication is handled by Auth0).
  • Brand information — details you provide about your brand, website, and competitors so we can score and improve your AI visibility.
  • Usage information — how you interact with our product, collected through analytics tools (PostHog, Microsoft Clarity) and standard server logs.
  • Connected-service data — data from third-party services you explicitly connect, described in detail below.

2. Google user data

If you choose to connect Google services, we access data through Google’s APIs only after you grant permission through Google’s OAuth consent screen, and only with the narrowest scopes needed for the features you use:

  • Google Analytics (read-only) — aggregated reporting data such as sessions, engagement, traffic sources, landing pages, and key events for the property you select.
  • Google Search Console (read-only) — search performance data (queries, clicks, impressions, positions) for the verified site you select.
  • Google Tag Manager (read-only) — the configuration of the container you select, used to suggest which of your existing tags represent conversions. We never modify your container.
  • Google Business Profile — performance metrics for the locations you select.

How we use it

We use this data solely to provide user-facing features in your Narrative dashboard: showing your traffic, conversion, and search metrics; correlating them with your AI-visibility scores and with changes you approved through Narrative; and improving the recommendations we make for your brand. We do not use Google user data for advertising, do not sell it, and do not use it to train generalized artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models.

How we store and protect it

OAuth tokens are encrypted at rest using envelope encryption with keys managed in Google Cloud Key Management Service, and are never visible to Narrative staff, other users, or AI agents. Synced metrics are stored as aggregated daily readings in our database, hosted on Google Cloud Platform. Human access to Google user data is limited to what is necessary for security, abuse prevention, or support with your explicit consent.

Retention and deletion

You can disconnect any Google service at any time from the Connectors page. Disconnecting revokes our access with Google and permanently deletes the stored credential immediately. Synced metrics are retained so your history remains useful, and you can request their deletion at any time — disconnect and delete options are available in-product, or contact us and we will delete them. Deleting your account deletes all associated data.

Narrative’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

3. Other connected services

If you connect other services (for example, a website platform such as Webflow), we access them only with your authorization, only to provide the features you enable — such as publishing changes you explicitly approved — and we store their credentials with the same encryption described above. Every action we take on your behalf is recorded and visible to you.

4. Service providers

We use a small number of service providers to operate Narrative: Google Cloud Platform (hosting, storage, key management), Auth0 (authentication), PostHog and Microsoft Clarity (product analytics), and AI model providers that process brand content to generate scores and recommendations. Providers process data on our behalf under contractual confidentiality obligations. We do not sell personal information to anyone.

5. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in and to understand product usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

6. Security

We protect data with encryption in transit and at rest, role-restricted access, audit logging, and least-privilege service design. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we encourage you to use a strong, unique password.

7. Your rights

You may access, correct, export, or delete your personal information at any time by using the in-product controls or contacting us. We respond to all requests within 30 days.

8. Children

Narrative is a business product and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We will post any changes to this policy on this page and update the date above. For material changes, we will notify you in the product or by email.
